Learning to read your ethereal cues
Have you ever felt that your body is in one place, and your mind in another? An example: you’re laying in bed trying to sleep. Your mind says “I’m tired” but your body says “let’s go running.” That’s a telltale sign that you are spiritually imbalanced. Something, be it consciously or subconsciously, is gnawing at you so much that you literally can’t lie still.
But how do we know when we feel imbalanced? And what do we do about it?
“…acknowledge how you feel, and chart a course to bring yourself back into balance.”
The Oxford Dictionary defines imbalance as the “lack of proportion or relation between corresponding things.” The things in this case are your body and mind - the physical and spiritual. For some of us, this imbalance may be felt by a lack of heart when performing a certain task. Ever feel like you’re just going through the motions with no real motivation behind your movements? That’s your soul’s way of saying “we shouldn’t be doing this.”
Another sign is the pit in your stomach, body feels like a ton of bricks feeling. Especially when this feeling is paired with an impending decision on action, it’s a clear sign that your actions and heart’s desires are misaligned.
So what do we do? Continue on the path that we are on, knowing our souls are unhappy? Or change course? Sometimes it’s necessary to continue through a difficult stretch to be able to have the freedom to follow your soul’s callings. Other times, aligning your body and soul can be as simple as stopping your current activity and choosing another one, no questions asked. What’s important is that you acknowledge how you feel, and chart a course to bring yourself back into balance.
So next time you feel jittery and uneasy, sit with yourself for a few moments. Close your eyes and ask yourself, am I where I need to be in life, or did I just have too much coffee?
