Appreciating the flow of energy
What happens when you're not being recognized for your work? Or when recognition is misguided and given to sources other than yourself? Understanding your contributions to a project but not having your efforts appreciated can be emotionally taxing - you've given time and energy to an endeavour but do not receive anything in return. This is not to say that an exuberant amount of praise is required, however, when effort only flows one way, there is a noticeable energy imbalance. The question is, what do we do with this? And how do we correct it from happening in the future? We will explore these questions below, with guidance channeled from our spirit team.
"...when effort only flows one way, there is a noticeable energy imbalance."
What do we do when there is an energy imbalance you ask? You see, this is a tricky point of contention, especially among those of us who have a hard time seeing beyond our own physical bubble. It is hard to demand respect from those who are not willing or able to give it. So what do we do? Only help those who are worthy? Or continue giving our energy to those who do not return anything? Well, the answer is not so simple. First off, if you need to protect your energy closely - if you are an empath for instance - then yes, please only help those will also reciprocate. Does this sound selfish? Possibly. However, when you are on an airplane, you put your own oxygen mask on first, then you help others. By offering assistance to others before yourself, you drain your own energy. To simplify this even further, it would be like pouring water into a well, but not filling the bucket back up to replenish your own glass. You end up dehydrated and physically unwell. When you are so closely influenced by the energy of others, it can be tiring to give give give, and receive nothing in return.
Conversely, if you can easily separate your emotions from others, or create an emotional barrier of sorts, assisting others, and participating in projects that make you happy is enough, regardless of whether or not you receive anything in return. You are able to "refill your own well" with your own inner satisfaction. Neither scenario is right or wrong, they are simply different.
In life, there is a constant duality, a give and take, in everything we see and experience. Day and night. Calm and stormy. Leap and fall. So too is there a duality within ourselves - this is the give and receive. Whether we recognize this in ourselves or not, when you give your energy to someone or something, you subconsciously expect a reciprocation to rebalance the energy. This is very common in spiritual practices like Reiki and other modalities of energy healing. If there is no reciprocation of energy, the exchange is not genuine.
We understand this message may ramble on, as it is not a cut and dry topic. There is no "DO THIS, DON'T DO THAT". It's more about being aware of who you interact with, how you protect your own energy, and what you hope to accomplish by engaging in a certain task. You set the ultimate intention, and receive any gratification you deem yourself worthy of. If there is no gratification received, ask yourself why? Is it a test so you may learn how to recognize your own accomplishments? Is it to push you to be more vocal about how you wish others to interact with you? Whatever it may be, be confident and bold. And always always, follow the flow of energy.
